I’m on a tight budget and looking for the best gaming monitor under $300. I mostly play casual and competitive games like Fortnite and Apex Legends. Ideally, I want at least a 144Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. Are there any good IPS or VA panel options that balance performance and picture quality? Would love to hear real-world experiences from anyone using a budget monitor.

ngl budget monitors can be a real minefield when it comes to long term reliability and panel lottery issues. i've gone through my fair share of displays that look great for a month then start acting up... before i can really point you in the right direction, are you looking for something with a proven track record of durability even if it costs a bit more, or is absolute peak performance your only priority regardless of build quality?
