I'm looking for monitor recommendations that will pair well with the iPad Pro M4 2024.  I'll be using the monitor for both productivity apps as well as watching HDR video content and light photo/video editing.

I'm open to suggestions but willing to spend up to $1000 for the right monitor that will provide an awesome pairing with the powerful iPad Pro 2024.

What monitors would you recommend that fit these criteria and will make the most of the iPad Pro's capabilities? Specific model recommendations with pros/cons would be super helpful!

For a more budget-friendly option, consider the Dell UltraSharp U2723QE. It offers a 27-inch 4K display with 98% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, making it ideal for color-sensitive work. It also supports USB-C with 90W power delivery, ensuring your iPad stays charged while connected. The fully adjustable stand is a bonus for ergonomic setups

I have been integrating iPads into my professional creative workflows for years, and the M4 Pro presents a unique challenge because its Tandem OLED screen is so good. Matching that visual quality on an external display within a 1000 dollar budget requires some trade-offs. To provide a methodical recommendation, I have a couple of clarifying questions:

  • Are you looking for a display that offers a high refresh rate to match the iPads ProMotion, or is color accuracy for photo work your primary concern?
  • Does your workspace require a single-cable Thunderbolt solution with high power delivery to keep the iPad charged during heavy editing sessions? Honestly, after trying many setups over the years, I have found that the perceived contrast ratio is often the biggest disappointment when moving from the iPad to a monitor. Knowing these details will help me pinpoint the right panel for you.

I paired my iPad Pro M4 (2024) with the LG UltraFine 5K (27UP85U-W), and it’s been a game-changer! The 5K resolution and 99% DCI-P3 color accuracy make it perfect for HDR video, photo editing, and productivity apps. The Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C support ensure seamless connectivity.

Another solid choice is the Dell UltraSharp U3223QE, featuring a 4K IPS panel with 98% DCI-P3 and USB-C PD, making it great for multitasking.

For a budget-friendly alternative, the BenQ PD3220U offers excellent HDR support and solid color accuracy.
