Im honestly about to lose my mind with my current setup. Ive been struggling with this dual monitor mess for months playing games like Cyberpunk and Witcher 3, but the thick black bezel right in the center of my field of view is just ruining every single immersive moment. It keeps breaking the immersion and frankly its making me not even want to play anymore. I tried moving things around but nothing works. So I was thinking about just biting the bullet and getting an ultrawide monitor but there are way too many options and I dont want to waste a grand on something that ends up having ghosting issues or bad colors.
My logic was that a 34-inch or 38-inch curved panel would fix this, but Im getting anxious reading all these conflicting reviews about VA vs IPS panels. Im in the UK and my budget is around 800-900 pounds, ideally needing something by next month since I have some vacation time coming up. Does anyone have a solid recommendation that wont make me regret the purchase after a week? Im just so fed up with this current situation and need a screen that actually looks good for RPGs...
Ugh, I feel your pain. Dealing with that center bezel while playing Witcher 3 is a total nightmare. Over the years I've tried many setups, but ditching the dual monitor struggle for a single ultrawide was the best decision I ever made for immersion. Given your budget and the need for solid colors without ghosting, honestly, you should check out these:
Jumping in here because I went through this exact headache last year. Seriously, ditching the bezel is a total game changer for RPGs. I switched to the Alienware AW3423DWF 34 inch QD-OLED and tbh, the contrast is just on another level. Blacks are actually black, which makes Witcher 3 look insane.
Regarding what #2 said about jumping in here, I totally get it. I had the same dual monitor setup nightmare and the bezel was driving me up the wall too. Honestly, once you go ultrawide, you just cant look back at that gap.
