so my trusty benq xl2411 finally kicked the bucket after like 7 years of service right when i'm finally getting back into the grind for cs2 and it is literally the worst timing ever. i've been playing since source so i know my way around refresh rates and stuff but the market is so flooded right now with all these random brands and i'm honestly a bit overwhelmed by the options. i need something fast because i have a local tournament in two weeks and playing on my roommates 60hz office screen is actually making me tilt lol its so blurry.
i'm looking for the absolute best bang for buck that wont have crazy ghosting when i'm counter-strafing. here is what i'm looking for:
i've heard people talk about the AOC 24G2 but i also saw some newer stuff from gigabyte and even some cheaper acer monitors but i'm worried about the panel speed. anyone know which one has the best motion clarity for under 200? i'm in the us so i can pretty much order from amazon or go to microcenter if i have to. what are you guys using for cs2 right now that doesnt break the bank...
Saw this earlier and wanted to chime in because I've gone through a lot of monitors over the years trying to find the perfect budget setup. Coming from a BenQ, you're used to a certain level of speed that's hard to find in cheap IPS panels. In my experience, the Gigabyte G24F 2 23.8 165Hz IPS is probably the most reliable pick for under 180 right now. The overdrive settings handle motion really well without adding that annoying inverse ghosting you see on some cheaper models. If you're looking for an alternative, the ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q1A 23.8 165Hz IPS is also built like a tank. I've used it for local tournaments before and the input lag feels basically non-existent. Both are VESA mountable and fit your 24-inch preference perfectly for competitive CS2. Just make sure you're using a DisplayPort cable to get that full 165Hz refresh rate working properly since HDMI can be a bit finicky on older setups.
Make sure to be careful with cheap panels since ghosting on a friend's monitor ruined my game. I would suggest the AOC 24G2SP 24 inch 165Hz IPS for staying on budget.
