What 1440p monitor should I grab right now that wont break the bank but still hits at least 144hz? My old faithful Dell S2716DG just started flickering like crazy this morning and I need a replacement by Friday because I have a local tournament coming up. I know my way around refresh rates and panel types, usually I prefer IPS for the colors but the prices are all over the place lately. Im looking to stay under $280 if possible, I am in the US so I can do Amazon or Micro Center. I was looking at the Gigabyte M27Q but heard some stuff about the subpixel layout being weird for reading text, is that still an issue on the newer revisions? Just need something solid and fast...
in my experience the Gigabyte M27Q-P 27in 1440p 170Hz IPS fixed that BGR subpixel layout mess. ive benchmarked its response times... its easily the best value under 280 bucks.

Just set one up for my brothers build and it was honestly amazing how fast it feels for the price. It hits 180Hz which is killer for that price point and the motion clarity is just top tier for a budget IPS. No weird subpixel issues like those older Gigabyte models either! If you can swing by Micro Center they usually have the LG 27GP83B-B 27" Ultragear QHD 165Hz Nano IPS on sale too which has colors that are absolutely gorgeous. Honestly dont stress too much about the flickering on your old Dell... moving to a high refresh IPS is gonna feel like a massive upgrade! Youre gonna love the switch, trust me. Hit me up if you want some help with the display settings once you grab one!

@Reply #2 - good point! That ASUS panel is definitely solid, but I actually just swapped my secondary display for the LG 27GP83B-B 27in 1440p 165Hz IPS last week and it has been a dream for the price point. honestly, the color accuracy out of the box caught me off guard because most budget IPS panels are way too saturated or just washed out. Here is why I went that route instead of the Gigabyte:
