What is the absolute best PS5 gaming monitor I can get for under $300 right now?

I need to buy it today for my kids birthday this weekend. I saw some recommending the Mobiuz EX2510S but others say 1080p looks blurry on PS5 and to get the Gigabyte M27Q instead, but that one goes over my budget.

Checking RTINGS is super helpful for this because some monitors wont run 120Hz over HDMI, which is what the PS5 needs. I ended up getting the Gigabyte G27Q 27 Inch 1440p 144Hz Gaming Monitor and I've been really satisfied with it. It supports 1440p at 120Hz directly from the console. Here is why it works well:

  • It has HDMI 2.0 ports that handle the 1440p 120Hz signal.
  • The IPS panel has solid colors and wide viewing angles.
  • Price is usually around 250, so it fits your budget. Honestly, no complaints here. Just make sure to enable performance mode in the PS5 settings to get the 120Hz working.

  • Exactly. In my experience, HDMI compatibility is tricky. I always recommend this safe bet:
  • LG Ultragear 27GL83A-B 27 Inch 1440p 144Hz Monitor

In my experience, you don't need to break the bank for a great PS5 setup. I've tried many displays over the years, and you should just get a 27-inch 1440p monitor from Gigabyte. You really can't go wrong with their budget lineup. Just look for these features:

  • 1440p resolution
  • 120Hz or higher refresh rate
  • IPS panel Let me know if you need help finding one in stock today, I can look around!

Honestly, if you are scrambling before the weekend, check out the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27 inch 1440p 165Hz Monitor. It is usually right around that 250-280 price point and fits the PS5 perfectly. The big plus here is the motion blur reduction tech which makes fast games look way cleaner compared to cheaper panels. Just make sure you toggle the performance mode in the PS5 settings once you get it set up, otherwise you wont hit those 120fps targets. Dont worry too much about the 1080p vs 1440p debate, at 27 inches the higher resolution is definitely worth the extra cash for a sharper image. Its a solid reliable pick for a gift.
