I'm in the market for a new gaming monitor and I've set my budget at $500. I'm specifically looking for a 1440p monitor that will give me the best gaming experience within this price range.
I've been doing some research, but I wanted to reach out to the community for recommendations. What are some of the best 1440p gaming monitors you've come across that fit this budget? I'm looking for something with low input lag, a high refresh rate, and good color accuracy.

To add to the point above: honestly it is ridiculous how hard this search is. I saw this thread earlier but just now responding because I spent my entire afternoon reading horror stories about dead pixels and backlight bleed on these new panels. It feels like such a scam sometimes. You spend good money expecting a premium experience, and instead you get a panel lottery where you just pray the screen shows up without glowing edges. I totally agree with the frustration about firmware bugs too. It drives me crazy that these massive companies release half-baked hardware and just expect us to deal with flickering or weird sync issues forever. Quality control seems to be dropping off a cliff while prices just keep climbing. I would suggest you be careful and make sure to check the return policy wherever you buy from, because honestly, I dont trust any of these manufacturers anymore. It just feels like a gamble no matter what you pick.

Just jumped into the thread. While the usual suspects are solid, you might want to consider focusing on motion clarity and panel consistency if you are serious about performance. Be careful with some of the cheaper IPS panels tho, because backlight bleed can really ruin the experience in dark games. I would suggest looking at these two:
- HP OMEN 27qs
- This is a sleeper hit. It hits 240Hz at 1440p and usually stays well under your 500 dollar limit. The response times are incredibly sharp for the price.
- MSI MAG 274QRF-QD E2
- The quantum dot layer gives you a massive color gamut, but make sure to check for a firmware update right away to get the best sRGB clamp performance. Make sure to check the return policy wherever you buy. IPS glow is a total lottery, so dont settle for a panel that has yellow corners right out of the box.
