I am actually so over this. Just cracked the screen on my 15 Pro Max for the second time since October and the repair bill is making me want to scream. I swear I barely even dropped it this time, it just slid off my truck tailgate while I was on a job site in Denver and boom, spiderwebs everywhere. Im a general contractor so my phone is constantly in harms way, whether its dust, drops on concrete, or just getting banged around in my pocket with tools. I need something that is actually indestructible and not just marketing hype because I cant keep spending $200 every few months on glass repairs.
I spent all last night looking at options and Im just more confused now. Everyone says OtterBox Defender is the gold standard but honestly I hate how bulky they are and I read a bunch of reviews saying the rubber outer layer starts stretching out after a few months plus the port covers always snap off. Then I saw those Mous cases that everyone raves about on YouTube where they throw them off buildings and stuff. They look way slimmer which would be nice but then I see people on Reddit saying they dont actually protect the screen if it hits an uneven surface like a rock or a bolt because the lip isnt high enough. So which is it?? Is there a middle ground that isnt gonna fall apart in six months?
Budget wise I dont really care as long as it works but I guess I want to stay under 70 or 80 bucks if possible. I have a big site visit coming up this Friday and I really need to get something ordered like tonight so it gets here in time. My hands are usually covered in grit or grease too so it needs some actual grip. I just want the absolute best rugged case that actually lives up to the name for these newer iPhones... what are you guys actually using in the field?
> Everyone says OtterBox Defender is the gold standard but honestly I hate how bulky they are Unfortunately, Otterbox quality has really tanked lately and those rubber sleeves stretch out way too fast. I had similar issues with Mous not protecting against uneven drops on site. Go with the UAG Monarch Pro Kevlar iPhone 15 Pro Max instead. Its way grippier for greasy hands and actually survives concrete. Best move for contractors tho.
