My old monitor finally kicked the bucket yesterday after like five years of service and now Im stuck using this tiny backup screen that makes playing anything look like a blurry mess. Im trying to pick up a decent 144Hz monitor for my desk setup but money is kinda tight right now so I really dont want to go over 200 bucks if I can help it. I mainly play valorant and some older rpgs so I dont need anything crazy for professional editing or whatever.

Ive been looking at the AOC 24G2 and the Gigabyte G24F 2, they both seem to be around the same price and have decent reviews but its hard to tell which one is actually better quality. The Gigabyte one mentions better color accuracy or something but the AOC has a stand that looks way more adjustable and my desk is honestly super cramped so space is a huge issue for me. I need to get something ordered by Friday because my weekend plans are basically just gaming and catching up on shows. Is the color difference on the Gigabyte worth losing the better stand, or should I just go with the AOC and call it a day?

Honestly, if your desk space is as cramped as you say, just grab the AOC 24G2 24-inch 144Hz IPS Gaming Monitor. The stand adjustability is a total lifesaver when you dont have much room to play with. Trying to squeeze a fixed-stand monitor onto a tiny desk usually just leads to neck pain or weird viewing angles anyway. I have used the 24G2 for a while and the ergonomics really are top-tier for a budget panel. While the Gigabyte G24F 2 23.8-inch 165Hz IPS Gaming Monitor does have a slight edge on color accuracy, you probably wont even notice the difference unless you are doing side-by-side editing work. For Valorant and RPGs, the AOC is plenty fast and vibrant enough. Just be careful with dead pixel checks once it arrives, as budget panels can be hit or miss sometimes. One quick tip: if you end up with the AOC, make sure to adjust the OSD settings immediately because the out-of-the-box profile is a bit aggressive with the saturation. Also, double check your display cable since you need to hit that 144Hz refresh rate reliably. If you get it ordered by Friday, you should be totally set for the weekend. Let me know if you need help setting it up!

Late to the party, but honestly, have you checked out the ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q 23.8 inch 144Hz IPS? It is fantastic for shooters like Valorant and the stand is super solid. If you want something even cheaper, the Acer Nitro XV240Y 23.8 inch 165Hz IPS is a total steal right now! Check out RTINGS online to compare their motion blur stats before you buy. Either way, you cant go wrong for that price!

To add to the point above: have you considered your viewing angle? I used a fixed stand for months and my neck honestly hated me. Do you have a VESA mount available?
