My monitor literally just flickered out and died while I was mid-game, so I need a replacement asap. Im in the US with a 300 dollar budget max. I saw people recommending the Gigabyte G27Q but then saw comments about dead pixels. Is that common? What should I actually buy?

Man, that sucks about your monitor dying mid-game! Honestly, skip the panel lottery with those older models and grab the LG 27GP850-B 27 inch QHD Nano IPS 165Hz. It is an absolute beast for the price and the response times are buttery smooth. I have been running one for months and the color accuracy is just stunning. Here is why you need it:

  • The Nano IPS panel tech is way better than the standard stuff you find in budget screens.
  • 165Hz refresh rate makes everything feel instant.
  • It supports G-Sync Compatible tech, so zero screen tearing. Seriously, the motion clarity is amazing and you wont regret the upgrade. Just make sure you grab a good DisplayPort cable since they dont always include the best ones in the box. Let me know if you need calibration tips!

Dead pixels happen, its a lottery. If you want speed and reliability, check out the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27 inch 165Hz IPS. Just be careful with backlight bleed issues.
