So I just finally got my first real gaming PC after saving up forever and I'm honestly so pumped to play stuff that isnt just Minecraft on my old laptop. My friend told me since I got a decent graphics card I have to get a 1440p monitor or else I'm wasting my money but I literally have no idea what that even means haha. I've been looking online and there are so many numbers and letters like 144hz and 1ms and IPS and honestly my head is spinning and I feel kinda dumb.

I'm trying to find something that wont break the bank because I spent most of my cash on the actual tower. I live in Ohio so I can drive to a Micro Center or just order from Amazon but I really want to stay under $250 if possible. I just want games like Cyberpunk or the new Call of Duty to look really crisp and smooth without it lagging. Is there a specific one that's like the gold standard for beginners who dont want to spend $500? I'm hoping to buy it by next Friday when I get paid. Sorry if this is a super basic question I'm just really new to all this and dont want to buy the wrong thing...

Re: "Saw this earlier but just getting back to..." - actually, be careful with those budget IPS panels. I once grabbed a cheap 1440p and the backlight bleed was so bad it ruined night scenes in Cyberpunk for me. I would suggest looking at the Acer Nitro XV272U Vbmiiprx 27 inch WQHD 170Hz IPS instead. It handles motion way better for COD. Quick tip: always test for dead pixels immediately.

Saw this earlier but just getting back to you. In my experience, 1440p is the sweet spot for clarity, but you gotta watch those specs. IPS panels give the best colors for Cyberpunk. I've used many monitors over the years and the Gigabyte G27Q 27 inch 144Hz 1440p IPS is a solid budget choice. One quick question though... what specific graphics card do you have? Knowing that helps tell if your PC can actually handle it.

Yo! Seriously, being in Ohio is such a huge win because you have Micro Center right there! I kinda disagree with getting too hung up on specific model numbers like the ones mentioned above... it just makes your head spin way more than it needs to. ^ This. Also, if you just go into the store, you can see them with your own eyes which is so much better than guessing based on random specs online. Honestly, just get any LG or Dell 1440p monitor they have in stock under your budget and you will be totally set. Ive seen so many setups and you basically cant go wrong with those brands because their quality control is usually top tier compared to the super budget brands. LG stuff is especially amazing for colors in games like Cyberpunk. Just walk in, find an LG or even the Micro Center house brand that fits your price, and grab it. You are gonna have such a blast with your new rig!
