Hi everyone, I'm building a new PC centered around the 9800X3D, and I need advice on selecting the best RAM for optimal performance. I've seen multiple recommendations about frequency, latency, and voltage, but I'm not sure which kit provides the best balance for gaming, productivity, and overclocking. Can anyone share detailed experiences, benchmark results, or specific kit models that have proven reliable with this processor?

Gonna try this over the weekend. Will report back if it works!

I've been doing a ton of research on the 9800X3D and, from everything I've seen, the consensus is that DDR5-6000 CL30 is the sweet spot. It offers excellent performance for gaming without breaking the bank or causing any stability headaches. For my build, I went with a 32GB kit (2x16GB) because keeping the memory controller in a 1:1 ratio is key—4 DIMMs can force the controller into a 2:1 mode and slow things down. Stick with 6000 CL30, and you'll be golden.

DDR5 6000 CL30 is the sweet spot for Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

Would love to know this too

Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5-6000 CL30 has been excellent for my 9800X3D build. The integrated EXPO profile works perfectly, and I haven't had to tweak anything manually. Price is a bit steep but worth it for the stability and performance.

Testing my current setup took forever because I kept trying to push the frequency past the 6000 mark. It turns out the 9800X3D really prefers staying at that 1:1 UCLK/MCLK ratio. I had a kit that could technically do more, but the 2:1 mode penalty killed the performance gains. The kit I finally settled on had Hynix A-die chips, and it was a total game changer for stability. Tightening the secondary timings was way easier on those than the cheaper set I tried first. If you're looking for that extra bit of smoothness in games, those subtimings matter more than the raw frequency. Just a heads up though, definitely check your motherboard QVL because my first set gave me endless memory training loops until I swapped it out for something better binned. Let me know if you need help looking at specific timing tables later on.

DDR5 6000 CL30 or DDR5 6000 CL28.
