I'm looking for the best monitor to pair with an RX 9060 XT graphics card and I'm trying to stay under $400. I'm primarily gaming (AAA titles and competitive shooters) so high refresh rate and low response time are important. I'm currently using a 1080p 60Hz monitor and it's definitely bottlenecking my system.

What resolution and refresh rate should I prioritize for optimal performance with the RX 9060 XT at this price point? Specifically, are there any 1440p monitors with high refresh rates (144Hz or higher) that consistently receive good reviews and fall within my budget? Any recommendations for specific models that offer a good balance of image quality, response time, and features for under $400?

Tbh I really agree with focusing on the FreeSync Premium certification over just the 1ms marketing numbers, it's a way SAFER bet. I’ve been doing a lot of reading because I’m also new to this, and honestly, the brand reputation seems to matter just as much as the raw specs. * Dell and LG usually have better quality control and easier returns for beginners.
* Brands like MSI and Gigabyte seem to pack more features for less money, but idk about their long-term reliability.
* Always check the warranty terms for "dead pixel" policies before buying. Is there a specific brand you usually trust? I’m always a bit worried about the longevity of the cheaper brands, even if the specs look amazing on paper.

Hey, I've been pretty happy with the Acer Nitro XV272U Vbmiiprx. I know monitor shopping can be a headache! I grabbed mine about a year ago for around $350 on sale, and it's been great with my older RX 5700 XT. I'm running at 1440p and getting a solid 144Hz, no complaints at all. The response time seems good, and I haven't noticed any ghosting in fast-paced games. It's got Adaptive-Sync, which seems to work well. I'm not a super hardcore gamer, but it's a huge upgrade from my old 1080p screen. Colors look good to me too, although I didn't calibrate it or anything fancy. Just plugged it in and it worked! Does that sound like something you'd be interested in?

Forget those! Grab a Gigabyte M27Q P (around $320)! Its KVM switch is AMAZING for multi-PC setups, plus it hits that sweet 170Hz. Are you gaming on multiple devices too?

Don't overspend chasing marginal gains. I've tried many monitors over the years. For under $400, a solid 1440p 144Hz VA panel is your sweet spot. Forget IPS at this price; the contrast will be underwhelming. Check out the Pixio PX277 Prime – I saw it for $279 last week. Focus on response time *consistency* more than the marketing numbers. Does it have FreeSync Premium or G-Sync Compatible certification? That's more valuable than shaving off 1ms. Will that monitor fit on your desk? Don't forget to factor in the cost of a VESA mount if needed. Will you ever use it?
