TL;DR: Pre-ordering is basically a myth these days and honestly, tracking sites are usually a waste of time. I've been doing this for over a decade and the reliability of these launches just keeps getting worse. In my experience, even when you think you've won, you havent. I've tried many different brands and it's always the same story.

• ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition: Hands down some of the best build quality out there but their direct web store is a joke. It crashes the second a drop happens and you're left staring at a 404 page.
• MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X: Usually has more reliable site performance during the rush tho they have a nasty habit of overselling stock and cancelling confirmed orders two days later. It's just exhausting that we have to go through this every single generation. Just venting because it shouldnt be this hard to spend a few thousand bucks on a piece of silicon. Ngl, seeing these placeholder links already is just making me stressed out about the inevitable stock disaster ... gonna be another rough year for all of us.

Just catching up on this thread. Honestly, spending thousands on a launch day card is just not worth the headache imo. I remember snagging a Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 Trinity on a crazy discount a few months after it dropped and it saved me so much cash while still crushing every game I throw at it!

• Stop worrying about the 5090 hype train
• Look for open box deals or refurbished units
• The performance jump usually isnt worth the premium price tag If you really want to save, just grab a solid previous gen card like the MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Super 12GB instead. It is fantastic for the price and you wont regret keeping that extra money in your wallet!
