Has anyone come across any credible leaks, rumors, or official statements regarding the expected price point for RTX 5080 GPU.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I think these 1100 dollar estimates are way too optimistic. In my experience, the transition to new memory standards like GDDR7 always adds a massive premium that people tend to overlook in early rumor cycles.

  • Manufacturing data suggests the board complexity is way up this time around.
  • Power delivery components for these high-TDP cards have become much more expensive over the years.
  • Market trends show that top-end silicon stays pricey as long as there is no real pressure from competitors. I've built enough high-end systems to know that cutting corners on the price usually means cutting corners on the PCB quality. If you're building a custom rig, just get any of the high-end boards from ASUS. They're usually the safest bet for power stability and VRM cooling. Honestly, I'd be surprised if we see this for less than 1400 bucks at launch.

I guess the US price for will be around $1200 at launch.

Regarding what #6 said about "Building on the earlier suggestion, I think these..."

  • I'm betting on $1299 for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7. It sounds like a lot upfront but I'm looking at this as a 5-year investment. Tbh I'm usually satisfied paying more if the hardware actually lasts.
  • GDDR7 memory is a huge jump and that tech isnt cheap to implement
  • Better power delivery means the card wont die under heavy load
  • Resale value on 80-series cards stays high Honestly, I'd rather spend the cash now on something that works well for years instead of chasing mid-range upgrades every season. If they keep the build quality high like the previous generations, I'll be perfectly happy with that price point.

There are some rumors floating around that the RTX 5080 could cost upwards of $1200 in the US when it launches later this year. But take that with a grain of salt, as pricing rumors are often inaccurate. The real price will depend on the exact specs, how it performs compared to the competition, and the overall market conditions at the time of release. As an enthusiast card, it definitely won't be cheap though.
