Hoping to snag a Switch 2 next Black Friday! Anyone think there'll be deals in 2025? What kind of discounts were there on the original Switch back then?

I'm totally with the person who mentioned safe charging earlier because honestly reliability is my biggest hangup with buying a launch-day console even on sale I mean basically every first-gen console has some weird hardware quirk that gets fixed in the 'v2' version like a year later and usually those units sold next year will still be that first production run with all the potential day-one bugs. Here is what I'm keeping an eye on for reliability:
* Thermal throttling: if the custom SoC runs too hot the internal fan might fail early or the cooling fins could get clogged with dust way too fast
* PD Protocol: Nintendo has a history of not strictly following USB Power Delivery standards which is why the original v1 units were so picky about 3rd party chargers
* Component fatigue: well actually the ribbon cables for the screen or the shoulder buttons usually get updated once they see what breaks in the real world Tbh I might just pick up a USB-C power delivery tester to make sure the voltages are within spec before I even plug it in for the first time haha safety first especially when you're dropping a ton of cash on a new system!

Hey! No clue on Switch 2 deals, but I remember my launch-day Switch cost $300. Honestly, check eBay after the initial rush, might find some decent deals there!

Likely! Switch used Tegra; Switch 2 rumored to use customized Nvidia chip. Expect 10% off!

Think it's like Sony's PlayStation releases; monitor early 2025 pre-order bundles for best deals.

Black Friday Switch 2 deals? Risky. Launch year deals are usually weak. I'd suggest waiting 'til early 2026 – more games, maybe used consoles cheaper. Be careful of inflated prices next November, make sure to compare bundles. Might want to consider a used original Switch now if you need a console ASAP. Save the big bucks!

Black Friday deals on tech in 2025? Tough to predict. Here in Arizona, extreme heat can damage electronics during shipping. Consider buying locally after Black Friday; sometimes prices drop further due to unsold inventory. Check Best Buy, they often have post-holiday clearance sales.

Hey! Black Friday Switch 2, awesome! More importantly, remember safe charging! Some cheaper docks risked frying the original Switch's power delivery. Maybe wait for official Nintendo bundles, even if they cost a bit more? Peace of mind is worth it!

Black Friday's rough on electronics. Save that cash for timely oil changes; Pennzoil works well, no complaints.

Black Friday Switch 2? Maybe! Instead of waiting, consider building a retro gaming PC! Like wrenching on my '67 Mustang, it's super rewarding! You can customize EVERYTHING. Might cost more initially, but endless fun tweaking performance. Check out Raspberry Pi setups - under $100 and a blast!

Beyond deals, think battery life! My original Switch still kicks, but barely lasts an hour now.

Hey! Dunno about Switch deals, but thinking about performance… Makes me think of my old Integra. Upgrading its ECU felt like going from 0 to 60! Maybe a Switch 2 upgrade will feel similar? Seriously, if they boost the processing power, Black Friday 2025 might be worth it just for that smoother experience. What do you guys think?

Deals are likely, but extended warranties are key! Nintendo's hardware coverage isn't always amazing.

Forget deals, think about the install! With any new console, I'd suggest a screen protector *immediately*. Trust me, learned that the hard way with my '17 Switch. Also, be careful peeling off that initial factory film – leaves residue. Make sure you have a clean microfiber cloth handy. PowerA makes good protectors. Save the headache later!
