Ive been using a cheap membrane keyboard for way too long and my wrists are seriously killing me after long sessions of COD on my PS5. I really need to upgrade to something mechanical before I lose it. Im trying to decide between the Razer BlackWidow V3 and the Logitech G Pro, maybe even the Keychron K2 if I want to save some desk space. My budget is around 120 bucks and I need something by next weekend for a tournament with my friends in Chicago. Is the connectivity actually solid on console for these, or am I gonna have issues with input lag? Which one would you guys grab if you were me...

Saw your post earlier and finally getting around to throwing my two cents in. Honestly, I went down the rabbit hole with the Logitech G Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard GX Blue Clicky a while back thinking it would be the holy grail for my console setup, but I was unfortunately let down. The polling rate is great on paper, but without the G Hub software to actually manage the onboard memory settings, you're pretty much stuck with whatever default rainbow vomit effect it boots up with. It just felt like paying for features I couldnt even use on a PS5. Not as good as expected, honestly. If you want something that actually plays nice with consoles without all the firmware headaches, I ended up switching to the Ducky One 3 TKL Mechanical Keyboard Cherry MX Red Switches. It is a night and day difference. The build quality feels way more solid and, more importantly, it handles the plug-and-play aspect flawlessly since it is all hardware-based. No proprietary driver nonsense to clutter up your experience. Quick tip: grab a wrist rest. If your wrists are killing you, it is probably less about the switches and more about the typing angle. Even a cheap one makes a huge difference during long COD sessions. Just get something that keeps your palms neutral. Good luck with the tournament in Chicago!

Honestly, after dealing with firmware headaches on consoles, I wish I had just grabbed the SteelSeries Apex 7 TKL Red Switches or the Corsair K70 RGB TKL Cherry MX Red initially.

Honestly, skip the proprietary software heavy boards for console. I used the Razer BlackWidow V3 Mechanical Green Switches for a bit but unfortunately had issues with the lighting profiles not saving correctly on the PS5. It felt like a total waste of money honestly, not as good as expected for simple plug and play gaming. If I were you, grab the Keychron K2 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard Hot-swappable RGB instead. Its way more reliable for consoles and the smaller footprint really helps my wrist angle during long COD sessions. Quick tip: just plug it in wired if you want zero input lag, trust me. Wireless can be finicky depending on your setup. You will be set for that tournament, dont worry. Good luck in Chicago!

Jumping in here because I went through the same headache last year. Forget the software heavy stuff for console, its just a nightmare. I switched to the HyperX Alloy Origins Core TKL Mechanical Gaming Keyboard and its been an absolute game changer for my PS5 sessions. TL;DR: The HyperX board has fantastic onboard memory so you set your lighting once on a PC and it sticks forever. Its built like a tank with an aluminum frame, which is perfect for my aggressive button mashing during COD. I honestly love the linear switches because they are super smooth and dont feel mushy like membranes. Plus, no weird lag or connectivity issues since it just works right when you plug it into the USB port. Seriously, save yourself the frustration and go with something sturdy that remembers your settings. Good luck with the tournament in Chicago!
