Which CPU air cooler works best for mid-range Intel processors?

I am currently putting together a new build featuring an Intel Core i5-13600K and I am a bit stuck on the cooling situation. While I know many people suggest going with an AIO for the higher-end chips, I really prefer the simplicity and longevity of a solid air cooler for a mid-range setup. I am not planning on any heavy overclocking, but I do want to make sure my temperatures stay low during long gaming sessions without the fan noise becoming a major distraction.

I have been looking at a few popular options like the DeepCool AK400 and the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE, but I am worried about case clearance and potential RAM interference. My case has a maximum cooler height of 160mm, and I am using some slightly taller RGB RAM sticks, so I need something that wont block the slots. sooo, the 13600K pulls a lot of juice, so you basically need a dual-tower for low noise. the problem is that moving fans up for tall ram can hit ur 160mm case limit. For your situation, i would suggest:

Curious about one thing: what motherboard are you planning to use? Some have huge VRM heatsinks that make that 160mm limit even tighter. Quick tip tho, maybe look for asymmetrical designs like Scythe Fuma 3 CPU Air Cooler cuz they're basically made to clear tall RGB RAM. In my experience, those big dual-towers are always a tight fit so I think checking the offset is huge for ur build.

Late to the party but if you are looking for long term reliability and zero RAM issues, I have got a couple ideas. Personally, I am a big fan of the Noctua NH-U12S redux for mid-range builds. It is only a single tower but the build quality is top tier and it fits under that 160mm limit easily. Since it is slim, it wont even touch your RGB sticks. If you want more cooling power for the 13600K without the bulk, look at the ID-COOLING SE-226-XT Black. It has an offset design that shifts the whole heatsink away from the RAM. It is a bit beefier than the Noctua so it keeps temps slightly lower during long gaming sessions. Both are super solid options that wont give you any installation headaches or clearance drama. Honestly, sticking with a high quality single tower or offset design is the way to go when you have tall RAM... much less of a headache for maintenance too.
