sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm so lost. my logic was that bigger numbers like 20w meant faster charging but then some chargers only do 7.5w? I need one for my desk at work before my trip next week. which brand actually gives the max speed for an iPhone 14? I've got like 40 bucks...

Re: "pucks overheating..." - watch out, I cooked a battery using those flat pucks. Id suggest the ESR 15W MagSafe Charger with CryoBoost for safety. TL;DR: Active cooling stops heat-induced slowdowns.

Unfortunately, I had issues with generic pucks overheating and basically dropping speeds... super annoying.

  • Look for Qi2 tech.
  • Check Anker MagGo Wireless Charger Pad 15W Qi2. Does your phone case have magnets?

Ugh, I wasted so much cash on those cheap 7.5w blocks thinking they were fine... super annoying how slow they actually are. Honestly, I had issues with almost every third-party one I tried. To hit that 15W max on your 14, just grab the official Apple MagSafe Charger 1m White. It fits your forty buck budget and actually works. The generic ones were such a disappointment.

To add to the point above: you gotta make sure the charger is MFi certified or uses the new Qi2 standard! That is the only way to hit that amazing 15W peak on your 14. Quick questions tho:

  • Do you already have a high-wattage USB-C wall block?
  • Are you looking for a stand or a flat pad? Technical specs make all the difference!
