Im so stoked because I finally just upgraded to the 16 Pro Max after sticking with my old phone for like four years! Im super clumsy though so I need a screen protector asap. I saw some people on Reddit swear by those cheap 3-packs on Amazon for like 10 bucks, but then I read a review saying they wont sit flat on the new rounded edges and might mess with the touch sensitivity. My local Apple store is trying to charge me fifty bucks for the Belkin one which feels like a total rip off. Does anyone actually use the cheaper ones without issues or is it just gonna ruin the screen feel?

Honestly, skip the Apple store markup. I use Spigen GlasTR EZ Fit Tempered Glass on mine and it works perfectly. Easy install, zero touch issues, and costs way less.

Honestly, the cheap 3-packs are usually a total headache. I tried the generic route on my last phone and ended up with bubbles everywhere and weird rainbow streaks near the edges. The problem with those ultra-cheap ones is that the adhesive is super weak, and because the 16 Pro Max has those slightly curved display edges, they just dont sit flush. It drives me crazy when dust gets caught under the lifted edge. If you want something that actually sticks and feels like the real screen, you should look into these instead:

  • TORRAS Diamond Shield for iPhone 16 Pro Max
  • These are solid. The alignment tool is pretty decent and they actually cover the full screen properly. I havent had any touch issues with these, but they are a bit pricier than the bulk 3-packs.
  • ESR Armorite for iPhone 16 Pro Max
  • These have an insane hardness rating and honestly feel better than the stock glass. Theyre a bit thicker, so it takes a second to get used to the feel, but they dont chip nearly as fast as the cheap stuff. Whatever you do, just avoid the ones that claim to be universal for older models. The fit on the 16 series is specific and if the protector doesnt line up perfectly with the notch area, itll annoy you every time you look at it. Just grab one of the mid-range brands and save yourself the frustration.
