iPhone 17 Pro Max screen protector recommendations needed! Just got the phone. What's the best option around $30?

Yeah I see why people like the cheap ones, but ngl I always mess up the installation if it doesnt have a good frame. Since youre willing to spend up to $30, I think you should check out the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Glass Screen Protector. It usually comes in a two-pack for like $17 and the tray makes it basically foolproof to get it straight without dust getting trapped underneath. I tried a super cheap brand last time and it was a total nightmare with bubbles lol. Another one I keep seeing in my research is the amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass Screen Protector. Its also pretty affordable and has a similar easy install tool. Do you think its better to get a single premium one or a multi-pack just in case? I personally feel like having a spare is a lifesaver for when you inevitably drop the phone and the protector cracks.

I've been digging into the glass specs for the new 17 Pro Max lately and you might want to be careful about the actual light transmission rates on some of these cheaper options. If the transparency is below 92%, you're gonna lose that crispness you paid for... honestly it's not worth saving five bucks if the screen looks dull.

  • Look for something specifically using high-alumina glass because it's way more flexible and impact-resistant than standard soda-lime tempered glass.
  • Be careful with the 'full coverage' claims... make sure there's a tiny gap for your case or the edges will just lift up and trap dust immediately.
  • Check if the kit includes a dust-removal film, not just a sticker, because micro-bubbles are a nightmare to get out once the adhesive sets. I would suggest checking out the amFilm OneTouch Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 17 Pro Max 2-Pack. It's a solid cost-conscious pick that usually performs well in drop tests. Another technical win is the TORRAS Diamond Shield for iPhone 17 Pro Max because it uses a multi-layer ion-exchange process which helps with scratch resistance over time. Both should keep you under that $30 mark while still protecting the sensor housing properly.

Consider tempered glass; check oleophobic coating specs. ESR's decent, often under $20, good hardness rating.
