What accessories are essential for a new tablet so I dont break it? Im torn between the Apple Smart Folio and a Logitech keyboard case, leaning toward the Folio because its cheaper but worried I'll need the keys for my internship starting Monday.

Budget is 80 bucks max. Which survives the bus commute better?...

To add to the point above: I've been incredibly satisfied with a split setup instead of a single folio. I used to carry my tablet on a crowded light rail every morning and was always worried about the screen flexing in my bag. Honestly, the all-in-one cases under 80 bucks usually have okay-ish protection, but the keys feel kinda mushy and cheap. Here is what worked well for me:

  • Spigen Tough Armor Pro Case for iPad which has that air cushion tech for the corners and a solid kickstand.
  • Logitech K380 Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboard for your internship desk. I'm really happy I went this route because the Spigen case is built like a tank for the bus ride. Then I just pull the keyboard out when I get to my desk. The K380 is basically the gold standard for portable typing and it fits perfectly in a backpack. No complaints at all after a year of heavy use, plus it's way under your 80 dollar limit.

Just saw this thread and wanted to jump in since I spent weeks obsessing over specs before my last contract. I was commuting an hour each way on the bus and needed something that wouldnt flex in my messenger bag. I have been really happy with how my setup aged.

  • ZAGG Pro Keys Wireless Keyboard and Detachable Case
  • This one is a tank. It offers 6.6 feet of drop protection which is miles ahead of the basic Folio. The 1.5mm key travel feels like a real laptop, and I was satisfied with the dual-device pairing feature when I needed to swap between my tablet and phone quickly.
  • ESR Rebound Magnetic Keyboard Case
  • A buddy of mine uses this for his internship. It has a great floating cantilever design and a very responsive trackpad for the price point. It is not as rugged as the Zagg, but the magnets are sturdy and it keeps the profile slim. Honestly, the Zagg worked well for me because the shell is detachable from the keyboard. It survived plenty of bag tosses without a scratch and fits your budget perfectly.

Honestly, for the bus commute, the Logitech Slim Folio Keyboard Case for iPad 10th Gen is significantly more durable than the Apple Folio. It provides better corner protection. Pair it with a JETech Tempered Glass Screen Protector for iPad so you dont scratch the screen in your bag. This combo stays under 80 dollars and handles typing tasks way better for your internship.
