Finally got my PS5 and I'm beyond hyped to start gaming this weekend! I saw people hyping up the Gigabyte M28U and the Sony Inzone M9, but some reviews say the HDR on the Gigabyte is kinda bad.

I've got $650 to spend. What's the best 4K monitor that hits that 120Hz sweet spot for PS5?

Stumbled upon this and had to chime in because finding the right 4K panel is a total game changer! If you want something that outperforms the Gigabyte M28U while staying under $650, you really should look at the LG 27GR93U-B 27-inch 4K UHD 144Hz. It handles the PS5 bandwidth perfectly and the color accuracy is just fantastic.

  • Full HDMI 2.1 support for buttery smooth 120Hz gaming.
  • Incredible VRR performance so you dont deal with nasty screen tearing.
  • Much better factory calibration than most budget panels. I love it because the OSD is super snappy and it syncs with the PS5 settings right out of the box. Honestly, true HDR is hard to find at this price point, but this LG is easily the most reliable pick right now. Youre gonna have an amazing time with those exclusives!

I'd be careful with going too cheap on these 4K panels. If you want a safe bet that won't blow your budget, the ASUS TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A 28-inch 4K 144Hz is a solid choice for PS5. I would suggest waiting for a holiday sale to save more cash. Just make sure to check the warranty terms tho... dont wanna risk getting a bad unit.

Nice one on getting the PS5, thats super exciting! Honestly tho, I had a pretty rough time finding a monitor that actually looked good. Most of the ones people recommend in that price range turned out to be a bit of a letdown for me. The HDR was super weak and basically just made everything look grey and flat, which was totally not what I expected after spending so much. It really killed the vibe for my first few games. To figure out which compromise you can live with, I have a couple questions:

  • Do you usually play in a bright room or a dark cave like me?
  • Are you mostly into fast shooters or big cinematic games? Finding the right panel is such a headache but I can try to help you narrow it down so you dont waste your cash like I did... just let me know!
