Looking for 4K gaming monitor deals this Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Specifically hoping for something under $500. Any recommendations or links to good deals you've spotted?
Stumbled upon this thread while searching for something reliable, but unfortunately everything feels so expensive or risky. I actually tried to snag a budget 4K screen last year during the sales but it was not as good as expected. It had issues with weird flickering right out of the box and some dead pixels that the company said were within normal range... which is just frustrating. Honestly it was a nightmare trying to get a refund. Just a heads up for anyone looking at those cheap deals. I learned the hard way that cheaping out on the panel usually means they cut corners on the build quality. My screen literally wobbled every time I typed lol. Be really careful with the super deals from brands youve never heard of because the quality control is a total lottery. Id honestly suggest looking for older models from the big reputable brands instead of taking a chance on a no-name unit just because it fits the budget.
Hey! I just upgraded to a Gigabyte M28U last year. 4K, 144Hz, and the colors are great. Honestly, it's been a game changer for Forza. Not sure about deals now, but keep an eye on that model. It was easy to setup, too. Good luck!
Check DisplayHDR certification levels! Samsung Odyssey Neo G7's contrast ratio is fantastic for dark scenes.
Before diving into 4K, consider eye strain over extended gaming sessions. A cheaper, flicker-free 1440p monitor might be a safer bet. Less fatigue means better reaction times on the road too! BenQ has decent options known for low blue light.
Before chasing 4K, consider if your PC can *really* push those frames. A solid 1440p monitor might be a better value for gaming *and* your wallet. Check out the LG 27GP850; often dips under $350.
For optimal response time (like downshifting!), check out ASUS TUF. Great for racing games.
Forget pre-built! Salvage a used 4K TV! Seriously! I snagged a 55" TCL for $200 and the panel is AMAZING. Little DIY tweaking for response time, but totally worth it! Way cheaper than any "gaming" monitor. Plus, BIGGER is better, right?! Love the immersive feel!
Been running Acer Predator since '21 – happy with it. From my research, they seem to balance price and panel quality well. Samsung usually has better contrast, but reliability reports haven't always been stellar. Check actual user reviews; specs only tell half the story!
Yo! Down here in Arizona, unfortunately, high temps mean LG OLEDs had issues with burn-in. Not as good as expected. Maybe try a bright IPS panel like the Acer Predator XB273K.
Been running the LG 27GN950 for 3 years. Great color, but check burn-in reviews *carefully* before you pull the trigger. 4K gaming taxes it.
