Honestly I am sooo excited to finally get my hands on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 but I’m also like, super nervous about where to actually buy it? Since they are so hard to find, I’ve been worried about landing on a sketchy site. Basically my tip is to only stick to the big name authorized retailers even if the wait is longer. Is it even safe to buy from those random third-party sellers on marketplaces right now? I’d be so worried about the warranty or if the card is even real, you know? Reliability is like, the most important thing when you're spending this much money, so maybe just double check the seller's reputation first?

Yeah, I have been doing tons of research lately because I am so excited to finally build my first real high-end rig! From what I have seen looking at different stores and reading what other people are saying, the restock times really depend on which specific brand you are trying to grab. Basically, here is what I noticed while digging around:

Like someone mentioned, those trackers are pretty much the only way to stay sane right now tho its still a total gamble. Honestly I have had a rough time with my current setup after trying a few different brands and finding them lacking.

  • First I managed to snag the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition but the coil whine was legit painful... like a swarm of bees in my case. Totally unacceptable for the price imo.
  • Swapped it for the Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 MASTER thinking it would be better but the software suite is just kind of a mess ngl. It kept resetting my fan curves for no reason.
  • I even tried a friends MSI GeForce RTX 5090 SUPRIM X for a weekend but the thermals werent as good as expected given the size of that massive cooler. Basically spent a month chasing stock just to be disappointed by the actual hardware quality control this gen. Seems like every brand has some weird compromise... just super annoying when you are dropping this much cash and things dont just work perfectly.

The best way is to check at stock tracker websites, such as GearInStock: https://www.gearinstock.com/nvidia-rtx-5090-pre-order-in-stock-availability-tracker/

They will notice you when in stock.

Wait several weeks at least.
