Honestly, the stock situation is a mess right now but shipments should start stabilizing by late March or early April as the initial launch craze cools off. If you are looking at long-term ownership for the next 4 or 5 years, you really want to focus on the cooling and VRM phases since these cards pull massive power. I have been looking at the data and here are the two best options imo:

• ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition: Pros: Absolute unit of a cooler and top-tier power delivery components that will outlast the warranty. Cons: It is insanely huge and takes up way too much case space.
• MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Suprim X: Pros: Better aesthetics and much quieter fan curve out of the box. Cons: MSI software can be a bit annoying to deal with long-term. Tbh if you can find the ASUS in stock first, grab it for the build quality alone. Just make sure your PSU can handle the transient spikes... these things are hungry.

• Honestly Q_Wany is probably being optimistic at this point. It drives me crazy how these launches go nowadays. You wait months for a drop just to find out the price is even higher than the already insane MSRP. It feels like such a scam when the companies know they can just drip-feed stock and we will still line up for it. Ngl, the worst part for me is the compatibility mess. These cards are basically the size of a small microwave now. I have seen so many people buy these massive GPUs only to realize they wont even fit in a standard mid-tower without some serious jank. Between the power draw and the sheer bulk, it feels like we are losing the 'personal' part of PC gaming. Manufacturers just dont seem to care if their products actually work for the average enthusiast anymore... just as long as the numbers on the box are bigger. Its such a headache.
