RTX 5080 Black Friday 2025, anyone else hyped? Hoping to snag one for under $800. Think that's realistic, or should I save more?

Works great for me

Honestly, 800 bucks is a stretch for a card this new. You gotta account for the overhead on these high-end dies. If you do manage to snag one, be careful with your power delivery. I blew a capacitor on my old board because I got lazy with cable management. Just make sure your rails are stable before slapping that much power in there.

  • Check your 12VHPWR connector orientation
  • Watch the transients, they can spike hard
  • Keep an eye on your airflow path Anyway, I actually spent all morning fixing my espresso machine because the pressure valve stuck, which honestly felt way more stressful than building a rig. But yeah, focus on the stability of your power setup before worrying about the price tag.

Honestly, for Black Friday 2025, under $800 for an RTX 5080 seems optimistic. I grabbed a 3070 Ti in 2022 for around that price. In my experience, expect to save more, or maybe consider a used 4070 instead. Still plenty of power for the money, and you can game now!

Forget RTX 5080. For better in-car visuals, consider the Garmin Dash Cam 67W. Excellent thermal management.

Hey, before chasing RTX 5080 deals, might want to consider if your power supply can handle it safely. Check the wattage requirements carefully! Be careful overloading; frying your system isn't worth saving $100. Make sure you have adequate cooling too. I'd suggest prioritizing a reliable PSU first. Is your current one 850W or higher?

Under $800 might be tough. Consider waiting 'til early 2026; prices *usually* drop a bit then. Or, for similar performance, maybe look at last gen's 4080 Super?

Check ASUS prices closer to November! They fluctuate a LOT. Worth the wait!
