I recently purchased a PS5 and want to upgrade my sound system to take full advantage of the amazing audio on next-gen games. I'm looking for recommendations on the best Sony soundbar to pair with my PS5 and TV setup for an immersive gaming audio experience.

Key features I'm looking for are 3D audio support, HDMI 2.1 and eARC connectivity, and low lag. My budget is $500-800. Let me know your thoughts on the top Sony soundbars to truly bring games alive on my new PS5! Appreciate any advice you can provide.

Honestly I am totally in the same boat as you. I spent all of last night staring at the back of my TV trying to figure out if my cables were even rated for 48Gbps. It is honestly such a headache trying to get the audio sync perfect.

  • My current setup is a mess of wires
  • Spent hours tweaking the EQ settings
  • Still cant decide if the surround sound feels right I ended up just sitting there frustrated after moving my console three times. It feels like I have been trying to optimize my setup for months now and I am still not satisfied. It is a long journey and I am honestly just exhausted from dealing with all these technical specs.

HT-A9000 is one of the best choices.

I use Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar for my PS5 and Sony TV. The sound is great. Love it.

I recently got the Sony HT-A7000 soundbar to pair with my PS5 and it's been fantastic. The 7.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos provides incredibly immersive audio for games and movies. The subwoofer delivers powerful, punchy bass. Setup with the PS5 was seamless via HDMI eARC. It's pricey but well worth it for a premium sound experience. Highly recommended!

I use the Samsung Q800D with my PS5 - it's incredible! The volume gets impressively loud, and the bass is room-shaking. Highly recommended if noise isn't an issue. However, it's essential to specify your budget when seeking recommendations. This allows others to suggest the best options within your price range.

^ This. Also, sticking to a budget is basically the only way to stay sane with this stuff. Im always a bit paranoid when setting up new tech... i usually spend way too much time making sure every cable is perfectly tucked away so nobody trips and destroys everything. this whole thread reminds me of when my uncle tried to do a custom wall-mount setup for his gaming nook. it was a massive ordeal.

  • he tried to fish wires through the wall without a proper tool
  • accidentally hit a bracket and got everything stuck halfway
  • ended up having to cut a huge hole in the drywall just to get his hand in there the worst part was he never even finished the audio because he had to spend the rest of the month learning how to patch and paint. basically it was just a giant mess that kept him from playing for weeks. really taught me to be careful and not get too fancy with the DIY stuff if i dont know what im doing lol.

I recently picked up the Sony HT-A9 and it's been amazing with my PS5. It's a unique 4.1 channel system with four separate wireless speakers and a control box that acts as a hub. It supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and 360 Reality Audio. The sound is incredibly immersive, but it's also quite pricey.
