Hi everyone, I just got lucky and snagged a PS5. Now I want to upgrade my TV to get the most out of the next-gen graphics and features. I'm looking at Sony TVs to pair with the PS5.

What's the best Sony TV model for PS5 gaming? I want a TV with HDMI 2.1 for 4K@120Hz, low input lag, VRR and ALLM support. HDR is a must. Budget is flexible for the right TV.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations on the ultimate Sony TV for my PS5!

If you want the absolute best Sony TV for PS5, go with the A95L OLED. Yes it's expensive, but the picture quality is mind-blowing - the perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and incredible color accuracy make games look unbelievable. It supports all the HDMI 2.1 gaming features like 4K120, VRR and ALLM. Input lag is the lowest of any TV I've tested. It's simply the ultimate TV for PS5 if you can afford the premium price.

In my opinion, the Sony X90L is an excellent choice for PS5 gaming. It supports 4K at 120Hz, has low input lag, and offers HDMI 2.1 ports. The picture quality is fantastic, especially with HDR content. Plus, being a Sony TV, it's optimized for PlayStation consoles.

Honestly, if you want the gaming features without the massive OLED price tag, the Sony X85K 4K LED TV is a decent entry point. It handles 4K/120Hz and VRR just fine. Just keep in mind it doesn't have local dimming, so contrast isnt amazing for movies, but for games it works well enough. If you can spend a bit more, the Sony X90K 4K Full Array LED TV is basically the sweet spot for reliability and performance. Compared to brands like Samsung or LG, you might find fewer raw gaming features in the menu, but youre getting that 'Perfect for PS5' integration. It simplifies the HDR setup and saves a lot of headache. Staying in the brand ecosystem usually means fewer firmware bugs down the road, which is worth the extra cash for a stable setup imo. Its the safest bet if you dont want to keep fiddling with settings.

Re: "This thread is gold. Bookmarking for future reference..." - honestly, glad people are keeping this alive. Honestly, after living with a setup for a while, my biggest advice is just to look for the longest warranty you can find. I had a buddy run into screen issues after only a year, and that was a massive headache. I think these newer panels are pretty solid, but personally I get a bit nervous about burn-in if you leave the HUD on for hours. Maybe just play it safe and check if your retailer offers an extended protection plan? Not sure but it usually gives me peace of mind when dropping that much cash. It's probably overkill for some, but I'd rather be safe than sorry tbh.
