Hey everyone! I finally pulled the trigger on a PS5 Pro, and I'm super stoked to get it set up. Since it doesn't come with everything in the box like previous versions, I'm trying to figure out what else I actually need to buy right away.

I know I need to track down the disc drive since I have a big physical collection, but I'm curious about what else is essential. I'm currently looking at:

  • The official vertical stand
  • A high-speed M.2 SSD for extra storage
  • A charging station to keep things tidy

I don't want to miss out on any key features or end up with a messy setup. For those who already upgraded, what are the absolute must-have accessories for the PS5 Pro?

Congrats on the upgrade! Since you have discs, that Sony PlayStation 5 Disc Drive for PS5 Pro is priority number one. For storage, I honestly think the Western Digital WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB NVMe SSD with Heatsink is the sweet spot for performance and price right now. Grab the Sony PlayStation 5 Vertical Stand too, cause it just looks better and stays cooler that way imo. Enjoy it man!

If you want value, the Crucial T500 2TB Gen4 NVMe SSD with Heatsink hits 7400MB/s for less cash. Also, get the Sony DualSense Charging Station so you dont deal with messy cables.

Bump - same question here

Honestly its ridiculous how Sony is handling this launch. Selling a Pro console at that price point and then stripping out the stand and the disc drive is such a scam, it drives me crazy. Its like they know we will pay it anyway so they just keep pushing the limit of what they can get away with. I would suggest being real careful about what you rush out to buy right now cause the markup on some of these add-ons is just predatory tbh.

  • basically paying a premium for missing parts
  • stock levels are a total nightmare
  • the whole modular approach feels like a way to inflate the total cost Quick question tho before you drop more cash... what kind of display are you actually running? I want to make sure you wont have any bandwidth issues or bottlenecking. Make sure to check if your TV actually supports the full 48Gbps spec or you might be wasting your time with some of these upgrades. What is the actual model you are using?
