I'm in the market for a new power bank to keep my beloved console juiced up during long gaming sessions on the go. With the OLED's slightly larger battery capacity and power consumption, I want to make sure I'm getting the best option out there.

What power banks have you found to work well with the Switch OLED? I'm looking for something that can provide multiple full charges, has a decent output (preferably USB-C PD), and won't break the bank. Portability is also a factor since I'll be carrying it around in my bag.

I've been eyeing a few options like the Anker PowerCore 20000 PD and the RavPower 26800mAh, but I'm not sure if they're the best fit for the OLED model. Has anyone had experience with these or other brands?

Also, are there any specific features I should be looking out for? I've heard some power banks can cause issues with the Switch, so I want to avoid any potential problems.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations and insights! Let's power up our gaming experiences together!

Yeah the Anker ones are solid for sure, but honestly youre paying a bit of a premium for that official logo on the case. If you want reliability without the Nintendo tax, I've been using the Baseus Adaman 20000mAh 65W Power Bank and it hasnt let me down yet. The metal shell is tough and the digital readout is actually useful for knowing exactly how many more rounds of Zelda you have left. Another one thats basically a beast is the Ugreen 145W Power Bank 25000mAh. It's a bit bulkier but it'll charge your OLED and probably your laptop at the same time if you really needed it to. Just make sure the bank supports at least 15V output over USB-C PD so it can keep up with the console while youre playing. If the output is too low, you'll notice the battery still drains even when its plugged in, which is super annoying. Stick to brands like Ugreen or Baseus and you should be golden... theyve been around long enough to be trustworthy.

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.

^ This. Also, im honestly pretty disappointed seeing the official Anker stuff recommended so much. Its really outdated tech at this point. Unfortunately, those licensed models are stuck with older Power Delivery specs that just arent as efficient as what we have now. I've had issues with those RavPower 26800mAh units too, since they struggle to keep the 15V handshake stable during heavy load. If you want something that actually performs, check these out:

  • ZMI PowerPack No. 20 25000mAh
  • Anker 737 Power Bank 24000mAh 140W The ZMI is basically the gold standard for enthusiasts right now because it handles the 15V rail so much better than the old PowerCore stuff. The 737 is cool because the digital screen shows exactly how many watts your Switch is pulling in real time. Dont waste money on the Nintendo branding when you can get better capacity for the same price. Let me know if you want the deep dive on the voltage ripple data for these!

I've had great results with the Anker PowerCore 20100 Nintendo Switch Edition. It's officially licensed by Nintendo and provides enough juice to fully charge the Switch OLED 2.5 times. The USB-C PD port delivers up to 24W, which is perfect for the Switch. It's a bit pricey but worth it for the reliability.
