Like someone mentioned, those X3D chips are total beasts, but I'm gonna go against the grain a bit here. In my experience, chasing the absolute top-tier CPU for 4K gaming is usually a waste of money because you're almost always GPU bound anyway. I've built dozens of high-end rigs over the years and found that sticking with a reliable, cooler-running chip is often the smarter move for long-term stability... and it saves you a chunk of change. If you're looking to save some cash while keeping things rock solid, consider these:
- AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-Core 16-Thread
- Intel Core i7-13700K 16-Core Basically, these will handle the 5080 just fine at 4K without the premium price tag or the thermal headaches of the newest flagships.
