My iPhone 13 Pro Max is several years old, and the battery can't last long. Any good recommendations on a power bank for it ?

@Reply #5 - good point! honestly im just so over the battery life on the 13 Pro Max lately. mine is basically tethered to a wall now and it drives me crazy... i tried to be cheap and went for the Baseus 20W Magnetic Power Bank 6000mAh since it was on sale, but it gets way too hot and charges so slow it basically just stops the battery from dropping rather than actually filling it up. super disappointing tbh. i also had issues with a Charmast 10400mAh Mini Power Bank i picked up on a budget deal, it felt flimsy and stopped working after like a month. ngl it feels like a total scam that we pay so much for these phones and then have to hunt for cheap fixes just to make it through the day. everything is just so overpriced now, it sucks.

I was reading through these earlier and I gotta disagree a bit with the smaller magnetic options mentioned. They're convenient, sure, but the 13 Pro Max has such a massive battery that those tiny packs just end up getting super hot and barely topping you off. I learned the hard way when my phone overheated and shut down while charging in my pocket on a summer trip. It was a total nightmare trying to find my way back without maps. Total mess. If your battery is already struggling, you really need something that can push more power without cooking your device.

  • SHARGE Shargeek 170 24000mAh Power Bank: Honestly the best for data nerds. It has a display that shows exactly how many watts are going into your phone. I like it because i can tell if the phone is getting too hot and slowing down the charge speed. Be careful tho, it is kinda heavy for a backpack.
  • UGREEN Nexode 100W 20000mAh Power Bank: I would suggest this if you want something that handles thermals better. High wattage banks dont have to work as hard to push power to an iPhone, so they stay much cooler than the slim ones. Just make sure you grab a high-quality cable too. If you use a cheap gas station cable with a high-end bank, you might end up bottlenecking the speed or even damaging the lightning port...

Check out the Mophie Powerstation Plus XL. It's a bit pricier, but it's Apple-certified and has a built-in Lightning cable, so you don't need to carry an extra cable. It has a 10,000mAh capacity and can charge two devices simultaneously.

I've been using the Anker PowerCore 10000 for my iPhone and it's been great. It's compact, charges quickly, and holds enough juice for multiple full charges. Plus, it's affordable and Anker is known for their quality products.

The Apple MagSafe Battery Pack is expensive ($99) but works seamlessly with newer iPhones. Attaches magnetically and integrates with iOS to show battery levels. Perfect if you want something really compact and native.
