Can anyone point me toward a tablet stand that actually stays put while I draw but still fits in my bag? Im super excited to finally take my art on the go but everything I look at seems to be one or the other. I saw a bunch of people on Reddit swearing by the Lamicall foldable one, but then some reviews say it wobbles too much if you press hard with a stylus. Same with those super light plastic ones, they just dont seem sturdy enough for when Im sketching in a cafe. Im in London and have about 30 quid to spend before my trip next weekend... what are you guys using?
Saw your post earlier but just finally sitting down to reply! It is a total nightmare finding a stand that handles actual drawing pressure without sliding around, right? Before I drop my top picks, what size tablet are you rocking? An iPad Pro 12.9 needs way more support than an iPad Mini, so that changes things a lot.
@Reply #2 - good point! Tablet size definitely matters for stability. If you want something rock-solid that fits your 30 quid budget, look into the OMOTON Tablet Stand Aluminum. It uses a hinge system that feels way more secure than the cheap plastic stuff. It stays put even when I am really leaning into my sketches. You can usually snag one on Amazon for cheap and it fits easily in a bag.
Honestly, I used to struggle with the exact same issue! I finally settled on the UGREEN Foldable Tablet Stand Aluminum and it is a total game changer for sketching. It is super solid metal and doesnt wobble at all. If you want something even more portable, the Moft Foldable Adhesive Tablet Stand is amazing because it stays right on your device. Both fit easily in my bag for cafe sessions!
