Hey everyone! Looking ahead to iPad Air Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals in 2025. Any predictions or insights on what kind of discounts we might see? Specifically, what's the likelihood of deals on the base model with 64GB storage?

I definitely agree that hunting for the previous gen or refurbished units is the smartest move for 2025. Tbh, the <a href=" https://www.amazon.com/s?k= iPad+Air+M2&linkCode=osi&t=t=5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">iPad Air M2 will probably be the primary target for those holiday doorbusters as retailers flush out old stock to make room for newer M-series refreshes. Just a quick technical tip from someone who has seen these things age: try to skip that 64GB base model. From an engineering perspective, those lower-capacity NAND chips often have fewer lanes, which means slower data throughput compared to the higher-tier storage versions. Plus, with modern iPadOS apps, you will hit the storage ceiling almost immediately, forcing the system to use more virtual memory swap. That adds unnecessary wear to ur internal flash over time and can make the UI feel sluggish much sooner than it should.

  • Grab the 128GB or higher to ensure better drive longevity and faster read/write speeds
  • Check that the model supports WiFi 6E as it will be the standard for most routers by then

Yep, this is the way

To add to the point above: that technical insight about NAND lanes is spot on. In my experience, those base 64GB models tend to hit a performance wall much earlier than the higher capacity versions because the OS has less room for swap memory. Summarizing the points made so far:

  • Refurbished Pro models often provide superior hardware for the same price as a new Air
  • iPads frequently suffer from thermal throttling and glare in vehicle environments
  • Low storage capacity creates a physical bottleneck for system speed and longevity
  • Dedicated marine-grade displays or specialized automotive head units are often more reliable for dash use To help clarify your requirements:
  • Are you strictly looking for an iOS experience, or would you consider other operating systems with better thermal management?
  • Is this tablet going to be permanently mounted, or do you need it to be portable for other tasks?

Skip the iPad for car stuff! I've tried many. Get a ruggedized Garmin Tread. More durable, built for off-road, and I snagged mine for $400 last year. Worth it!

Instead of chasing iPad Air deals, consider a used iPad Pro. Last year's models offer better value per dollar, and you can find a 256GB version for around $500. More storage, same functionality!

Forget the iPad! For in-car nav/diagnostics, consider a used but ruggedized Panasonic Toughpad! Much more durable screen, plus they often have better GPS accuracy than iPads. I've seen fully functional ones for under $300. Battery life might be shorter, but the reliability is amazing for older cars! Check eBay!

Forget iPad dash kits! For $30, suction-cup mounts work surprisingly well. DIY install; just check viewing angles. Will it work for you? Depends how techy you are!

Hey! About iPad Airs in cars long-term... My 2020 model still works great for navigation and music! Battery life's degraded some, so factor that in. Maybe look at refurbished models later on? Cheaper and does the same!

Hey! Thinking about iPads in cars, just a heads-up: glare can be a HUGE safety issue. I tried mounting one in my old Civic, and unfortunately, the sun made it impossible to see the road sometimes! Maybe consider a dedicated car display instead? Or at least prioritize a matte screen protector for better visibility. Just my two cents on safety!

Forget iPad; consider a ruggedized Samsung tablet instead. Market trends suggest better durability for garage use. Expect similar discounts, maybe 20% off.

iPads can lag with demanding nav apps. Consider a dedicated Garmin; more reliable performance.

Consider AppleCare+ instead. A cracked screen is costlier than any iPad Air deal.
