Is there a VR headset compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra? I've heard that older models like the Gear VR are outdated. Are there any new options or upcoming releases that would work well with the S25 Ultra? Any recommendations or insights would be appreciated!

Honestly, phone VR is basically dead and it sucks. Samsung hasnt done anything meaningful here in years. Regarding what #2 said about "This one: https://www.amazon.com/Controller-Compatible-Anti-Blue-Adjustable-Universal/dp/B0DQH5ZLPY?t=t=7649-2 0" - look, those cheap shells are usually pretty terrible. The optics are bad and you will probably get a headache in ten minutes. Ngl, its a waste of cash because the S25 Ultra is too heavy for most of them anyway. If you want real value, the Meta Quest 3S 128GB is the only thing that actually makes sense right now. Its standalone, so you arent risking your expensive phone falling out of a plastic strap. If you really want to leverage the S25 Ultra hardware for media, maybe try XREAL Air 2 Pro AR Glasses. They connect directly to the USB-C port and give you a massive virtual screen. Not exactly full VR, but way better than those clunky goggles. Just dont expect a Gear VR successor anytime soon, cuz it isnt happening.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I tried one of those plastic shells last week and honestly, it was a complete disaster. My phone got so hot I was genuinely worried about the internal battery, and the blurriness just ruined the whole experience. I miss the old days when the Gear VR actually worked well.

  • The Meta Quest 3S 128GB is definitely where I'm putting my money next.
  • Dont even bother with the cheap generic shells, its just frustrating.
  • Your neck will thank you for skipping the heavy phone mount. Im really satisfied with the standalone headsets now. They just work without all the overheating issues I had with my old phones. Wish we had better options for the S25 Ultra specifically, but it seems like that ship has sailed.
