I'm on the hunt for the ultimate gaming monitor within a $1000 budget. What are your top picks? I'm torn between 1440p and 4K resolution, and unsure about ideal refresh rates. To add to the point above: folks here have already thrown out some solid OLED and high-refresh panel options, but you really gotta stop and think about your hardware first. I've been around the block with these upgrades for years, and honestly, jumping to 4K is gonna crush your GPU if you're not rocking top-tier hardware. Are you planning on upgrading your graphics card soon, or are you trying to keep your current build as is? Also, does your desk have the depth to handle a 32-inch panel, or are you sticking with something smaller? In my experience, buying a monitor without checking if your rig can actually push those frames is just asking for a headache. Once you know if your system can handle the load, the choice between speed and visual fidelity usually gets way easier.
