I'm looking to upgrade to a 4K gaming monitor and have narrowed my search down to Asus models. I currently have an RTX 4080 GPU so I want a monitor that can take full advantage of what my graphics card offers for ultra HD gaming.

My main uses will be playing visually stunning single player games, RPGs, and action-adventure titles. I may dabble in some multiplayer FPS games as well. The monitor needs to have a fast response time and high refresh rate to keep up with fast-paced games.

For a 4K gaming monitor to pair with your RTX 4080, consider the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP. It boasts a native 4K resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, perfect for visually demanding games.

Based on your requirements for a 4K gaming monitor that can take full advantage of your RTX 4080 GPU, here are a few recommended Asus models:

  1. Asus ROG Swift PG32UQX:

    • 32-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) IPS display
    • 144Hz refresh rate
    • 1ms response time (GTG)
    • NVIDIA G-Sync Ultimate certification
    • DisplayHDR 1400 certification
    • 98% DCI-P3 color gamut
  2. Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ:

    • 27-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) IPS display
    • 144Hz refresh rate
    • 1ms response time (MPRT)
    • NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility
    • DisplayHDR 400 certification
    • 90% DCI-P3 color gamut
  3. Asus TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A:

    • 28-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) IPS display
    • 144Hz refresh rate
    • 1ms response time (MPRT)
    • AMD FreeSync Premium Pro
    • DisplayHDR 400 certification
    • 90% DCI-P3 color gamut

These monitors offer fast refresh rates (144Hz) and quick response times (1ms) to handle fast-paced games. They also support variable refresh rate technologies like NVIDIA G-Sync or AMD FreeSync to minimize screen tearing and stuttering.

The Asus ROG Swift PG32UQX stands out with its larger 32-inch screen size, higher DisplayHDR 1400 certification, and wider color gamut, making it an excellent choice for visually stunning single-player games and RPGs.

The Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ and Asus TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A are also great options with their 27-inch and 28-inch screen sizes, respectively, and they still provide excellent 4K visuals and smooth gaming performance.

When making your final decision, consider your budget and any additional features you may prefer, such as the screen size, design, and connectivity options.

If you want to save some money while still getting a great 4K gaming monitor, check out the ASUS TUF Gaming VG289Q. It's a 28-inch IPS panel with a 60Hz refresh rate and 5ms response time. You get extremely sharp and vibrant 4K visuals, very good color accuracy, and HDR support. While it doesn't have the fastest refresh rate for competitive gaming, image quality is excellent and input lag is still low. For beautiful 4K visuals at an affordable price, it's a great option.
