sorry if this is stupid but I'm losing my mind trying to get two screens to work with my laptop. my logic was just buy a hub and plug them in but nothing happens.

I have about $60 and need this for my new job starting Monday. what do I actually need to buy?

In my experience, you should grab the MOKiN USB-C Hub Dual HDMI Adapter. It's reliable for under sixty bucks, but double check that your laptop port actually supports video output first.

Unfortunately most budget hubs are kinda disappointing for dual setups. I had issues with flicker on cheap ones constantly...

Unfortunately, you probably need to spend way more than sixty bucks to get something that wont fry your motherboard or flicker constantly. I had such a bad experience trying to save money on this and it just ended up being a huge waste of time.

  • the hub got way too hot to touch
  • screens kept blinking off during meetings
  • it felt super flimsy and cheap Actually, that whole situation reminded me of this time I bought a used mountain bike off Craigslist thinking I got a steal. First time I took it out, the chain snapped and I had to hike like five miles back to my car in the pouring rain. I was covered in mud and even lost one of my favorite shoes in a swampy bit of the path. Anyway lol sorry I totally went off on a tangent there.
