I'm building a new gaming PC and have decided to go with the Ryzen 5 5600X CPU. I'm trying to figure out the best GPU to pair with it for optimal performance in modern games at 1440p resolution.
I've been considering options like the RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 4070 SUPER, and RX 7700 XT, but I'm not sure which one would provide the best balance of performance and value. I don't want to overspend, but I also don't want to bottleneck the CPU.
What GPUs would you recommend for a Ryzen 5 5600X build targeting 1440p gaming? I'd appreciate any insights or experiences you can share.
Your best choice is RTX 4070 SUPER.
I also recommend the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER. A great midrange GPU for most gamers.
The RTX 3060 is still a great budget GPU for AMD Ryzen 5 5600X.
I think the RTX 4060 Ti is a bit underpowered for what you're aiming for, especially if you want to future-proof your build a bit. Between the 4070 SUPER and the 7700 XT, I'd lean towards the 4070 SUPER. While it's pricier, you get better ray tracing performance and DLSS support, which can be a game-changer for performance in supported titles.
That said, if budget is a major concern, the 7700 XT is still a very capable card for 1440p gaming and will serve you well. Your 5600X won't be a bottleneck for either of these cards at 1440p in most scenarios. Ultimately, it comes down to your budget and whether you value the extra features of the NVIDIA card.
For 1440p, 7900 GRE is a good choice.
