Hi community, I’m looking for a GPU for streaming and content creation workloads that efficiently handles simultaneous encoding, video editing, and live broadcasting. My current system struggles with multitasking during intensive sessions, so I need advice on graphics cards that offer excellent performance, low latency, and reliable stability. Has anyone experienced significant improvements after upgrading their GPU? I would appreciate detailed insights on benchmarks, power consumption, and compatibility with popular software, along with any practical troubleshooting tips you might share.

Honestly, for simultaneous encoding and editing, you want something with enough VRAM to handle the timeline and the stream buffer at the same time. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super 16GB GDDR6X is basically the sweet spot for professional workstations right now. Those dual 8th gen encoders are a massive step up from older tech, especially since they support AV1. If youre trying to save some money, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB GDDR6X is a solid alternative because it still has that 16GB buffer. Anything less than 12GB is gonna struggle with 4K timelines once you start adding heavy effects or color grading. Benchmarks usually show a significant uplift in export times compared to the 30-series stuff. Just check your power supply, tho these cards are actually fairly efficient for the performance you get. Pretty reliable stability on the studio drivers too.

Been thinking about your post for a few hours. I am honestly so satisfied with my current rig because it just works and doesnt crash, which is basically the most important thing for reliability imo. But I gotta ask for some clarification first... what software are you actually using to stream? I think I heard someone say that specific cards have weird issues with certain encoders in OBS compared to other apps, but IIRC that might be an old driver issue. Just wanna make sure what your workflow looks like before I give any real advice.
