What are the most durable cases for heavy tablet use?

Honestly I am so fed up with these flimsy covers that claim to be rugged but then the kickstand snaps off after like two weeks of real use. I just bought my third case in six months for my iPad Pro and its already falling apart at the seams literally. I use this thing for my freelance site inspections so its constantly being pulled in and out of my bag and being set down on concrete or gravel and I really need something that actually survives. My current one was supposedly military grade but the rubber is peeling and it doesnt even protect the corners properly if I drop it. I'm willing to spend a bit more money if it actually lasts because at this rate I'm spending more on cheap replacements than the tablet itself lol.

  • Budget is around $80 maybe $100 if it's really worth it
  • Needs a built-in screen protector because I hate the glue on ones
  • A kickstand that isnt made of thin plastic that snaps
  • Must have a strap for my hand so I dont drop it while taking photos on site

I need to get this sorted by next Friday before I head out to a big project in Arizona. Does anyone have any experience with brands that arent just marketing hype? I'm looking at Otterbox or maybe something more industrial but I just dont know what to trust anymore...

Yesterday was busy but I caught this now. You really gotta look at the material specs. Most rugged cases fail because they use cheap ABS plastic for hinges.

  • Check the drop test ratings; you want MIL-STD-810G at minimum.
  • I would suggest Gumdrop DropTech Case for iPad Pro because the TPU density helps with shock dissipation.
  • Make sure to inspect the kickstand hinge for metal pins, as plastic ones fail under high torque.

To add to the point above: I've been really satisfied with the Griffin Survivor All-Terrain for iPad Pro for site work. It has the screen protector and a hand strap that doesnt feel flimsy. The OtterBox Defender Series Case for iPad Pro 11-inch is also great but lacks the strap. The Griffin is worth the extra cash tho, because it actually survives those concrete drops without the kickstand snapping off.

> A kickstand that isnt made of thin plastic that snaps I switched to a heavy duty setup last year and honestly its worked out well. No complaints here, I am super satisfied with how it handles site visits without falling apart.
