I'm in the market for a gaming monitor, but I'm not very knowledgeable about them. My budget is $300 or less. I have an NVIDIA RTX 4070 SUPER graphics card, and I'm unsure if I need a G-Sync compatible monitor or not. Can you suggest some good options that would work well with my setup? I'd appreciate any advice on what features to look for and which monitors offer the best value in this price range.

Honestly, sticking to 1440p is the way to go with that card. I tried playing at 1080p for a bit on my rig and it just felt like a waste of the 4070 Super power, you know? Been thinking about your budget, and you really dont need a certified G-Sync module to get a smooth experience. Most newer monitors are G-Sync compatible enough to work fine over DisplayPort.

  • Dell G2724D 27 inch QHD 165Hz is probably your best bet right now. Its usually right around that $250-$300 mark, and the colors are pretty solid for an IPS panel.
  • Whatever you pick, just make sure you use a decent DisplayPort cable. I had some weird flickering issues once and it turned out the cheap cable was the only problem. Dont sweat the G-Sync branding too much. Most reputable panels these days handle the variable refresh rate just fine, and saving the cash for a better monitor build is smarter than paying the premium for a sticker.

LG 27GP850-B is a good choice.
