My aging LG Optimus Big LU6800 has become extremely sluggish and unresponsive. I've tried regular reboots, but issues persist. Before considering replacement, I'd like to attempt a hard reset.
What's the correct procedure for hard resetting this specific model? Are there any critical steps to follow before resetting? Will I lose everything, and what should I back up first?
Any help appreciated!
Tbh, if the hardware buttons are being finicky, you can usually just do it through the software menu if the phone stays on long enough!! It's basically the same result but way less finger gymnastics lol. Here is how I usually do it: * Go into your Settings menu
* Look for Privacy or Backup & Reset (the wording might be slightly different depending on your firmware version)
* Select 'Factory data reset' and confirm From a cost perspective, this is definitely your best bet since it's free. But honestly, if the reset doesn't fix the lag, it might just be the hardware showing its age. If you end up needing a replacement, you can find a used LG G7 ThinQ or an LG Stylo 6 for under $100 these days, which would be a massive upgrade. Just make sure to pop out your SanDisk microSD card before the reset so you don't accidentally wipe your photos (at least that's what I always do to be safe)!!!
Lol I was literally about to post the same thing. Glad someone else brought it up.
Noted!
To perform a hard reset on an LG Optimus Big LU6800:
Important: A hard reset will erase all data on your phone, including apps, contacts, messages, and settings. Make sure to back up any important data before proceeding.
