Which GPU cable extensions are best for custom builds?

Which gpu cable extensions are actually safe to use without melting my new card? Im building a white themed pc for my gaming setup and I'm honestly getting so frustrated trying to find reliable info. My budget for the cables is around 50 bucks because I already blew most of my savings on a 4080 super. I read on reddit that CableMod is the gold standard but then I saw a bunch of horror stories about them causing fires or melting ports which scared the hell out of me. Then I checked out AsiaHorse on amazon since they are super cheap but the reviews are all over the place with some people saying they are fine and others saying the pins don't even fit right. Im in the UK so my options are a bit limited compared to the US market too. I need this done by the weekend because my friend is coming over to help me finish the cable management. Do I just buy official ones from the psu manufacturer or am I overthinking this whole extension thing? Just want it to look clean but not end up with a burnt rig...

^ This. Also, honestly if you want peace of mind, check out Phanteks Universal Extension Cable Kit 500mm. They use 16AWG wire which handles that 4080 heat much better than those thinner kits.

Honestly, skip the cheap stuff if you just spent a fortune on that 4080 super. I used Corsair Premium Individually Sleeved PCIe Cables Pro Kit and they have been absolutely amazing! Honestly, if you are super worried about your 4080 Super melting, definitely stick with extensions from EZDIY-FAB Sleeved Cable Extension Kit because they honestly feel way more secure than the generic stuff on Amazon. They use 16AWG wire which is honestly just safer for that kind of power draw. I get the paranoia, I was the same way when I built mine!
