Im finally putting my 4080 Super build together next week but Im stressing over the cables. I looked at CableMod but some reviews mention the 12VHPWR ones being tricky and AsiaHorse seems cheaper but idk about quality. My budget is tight after buying the card. Which extensions actually look clean and wont melt on these new cards?

Ngl I was in the same boat when I built mine last year! If you want that high-end look without the boutique price tag, you should seriously check out the AsiaHorse 16AWG Pro Power Supply Cable Extensions. People sleep on them because they are affordable, but the 16AWG wires are actually thicker and way more robust for those power-hungry 40-series cards compared to the thin 18AWG stuff you find in super cheap kits. Just make sure you grab the specific set with the 12VHPWR connector included. The combs they include are actually pretty decent, tho they can be a bit of a pain to slide on sometimes lol. The main trick for these new cards is just making sure you hear that click and see no gap... srsly! If it is not seated deep, that is usually when you get those melting horror stories you see on Reddit. Honestly, for the price, they look fantastic and clean up the case mess so well!

I've tried many different brands over the years and honestly, the 12VHPWR stuff is a bit of a headache. In my experience, you really get what you pay for with these. CableMod Pro ModMesh 12VHPWR Extension kits look amazing and the wire is super flexible, which helps a lot with cable management. But yeah, they definitely bite into the budget. On the other hand, AsiaHorse 16AWG Pro Power Supply Cable Extensions have worked well for me in budget builds. The main downside is they're a lot stiffer, so training them to look clean takes some muscle. If you go AsiaHorse, just dont bend them too hard right at the plug. Honestly tho, the melting issues usually come from people not plugging them in all the way. Just make sure it clicks and youll be fine...
