Is it actually worth grabbing a dual charging dock for my PS5, or should I just stick to the cable? Im getting so stressed because my controller keeps dying right in the middle of a session and my desk is tiny. Im looking at the official Sony charging station versus that cheaper Oivo stand on Amazon. I really dont wanna spend more than 30 bucks because I need to save for an extra SSD upgrade for my library too. Is the official one just overpriced branding or does the Oivo one actually hold up? I need something by next weekend because my friends are coming over for a marathon and I cant deal with messy wires everywhere.

Just saw the thread. Honestly, the Sony DualSense Charging Station is solid and looks clean. If you want to save cash for an WD Black SN850X 1TB SSD, grab the Oivo PS5 Charging Station instead.

Coming back to this, I honestly agree with the others that you need to be careful with cheap docks. You really dont want a faulty charger frying your controllers, thats a nightmare scenario. If you want something safe that wont break the bank, just grab a reliable cable and maybe look into the Samsung 990 Pro 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD for your storage. It is super fast and reliable for games.
- Stick to name brands for electronics so you dont risk port damage
- Keep your cables organized with some simple velcro ties to save space
- Invest your money in the SSD instead of a risky third-party dock Basically, just play it safe. A cheap dock isnt worth the headache if it stops working or hurts your controller batteries. Focus on that storage upgrade instead.

Honestly skip the dock. I bought a cheap one and it broke in a month. Just use a long cable, it keeps the desk way cleaner tbh.
