Recently upgraded to the PS5 Pro and looking to enhance my audio experience to match the improved visuals. Currently using TV speakers (I know, terrible). Debating between a soundbar, headphones, or full surround system. What setup gives the best immersion without annoying neighbors? Is 3D audio worth investing in? Budget around $300-500.

Honestly if you want immersion without getting a noise complaint, headphones are the way to go. TV speakers are definitely holding that Pro back lol. I've been using the Sony Pulse Elite Wireless Headset and the 3D audio is legit... you can actually hear footsteps behind you which helps a ton in shooters. Plus it fits way under your budget. If you really want a room-filling sound without a massive setup, look at the Sonos Beam Gen 2. It supports Dolby Atmos and handles the PS5 audio processing pretty well without taking up much space. Just keep the night mode on if the neighbors are touchy about bass. Honestly tho, stick to a solid headset for the best 3D audio experience. It's way more immersive than a budget surround system anyway.

If you want pure spatial accuracy without rattling your walls, you might want to consider the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless headphones. The 38mm drivers are tuned really well for the PS5 Pro audio engine, and the battery life is solid for long sessions. Just be careful with the EQ settings in the software because some presets can get a bit muddy in the low end. If you really prefer a desktop setup, make sure to check out the Creative Sound BlasterX G6 USB DAC paired with some quality open-back cans. It gives you a way cleaner signal path than the controller jack ever could. I would suggest staying away from budget surround systems in that price range, honestly, as the digital processing lag can be super annoying for competitive games. If you decide to go the headphones route, keep the firmware updated through your PC so the wireless connection stays stable.
