Is it actually safe for a total beginner to use liquid metal on a CPU or should I just stick with thermal paste? Im building my very first gaming PC for college next week and Im honestly kinda terrified of ruining the motherboard. I watched one video where someone used liquid metal and it looked way colder but another guy said it can short out your whole system if it drips. My budget is pretty tight so I really cant afford to replace parts if I mess up. Is the extra performance even worth the risk for someone like me who has zero experience with this stuff?

Honestly, stay away from liquid metal for your first build. I fried a board years ago when a tiny droplet shifted, and the stress isnt worth the minor temp drop. Just grab some Arctic MX-6 4g Thermal Compound and call it a day. Its super easy to apply, totally non-conductive, and performs insanely well. Dont risk your tight budget on fancy stuff when you can get perfectly cool temps with paste.

> Is it actually safe for a total beginner to use liquid metal? Honestly, no. Stick with Noctua NT-H1 3.5g Thermal Compound or Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut 1g Thermal Paste. Liquid metal is just an unnecessary headache.
