Ive been looking for a decent stylus because my fingers are just too fat for digital sketching and my old cheap rubber tip one is basically garbage now. I did some digging and saw the Adonit Dash 4 gets mentioned a lot but then I read some reviews saying it doesnt have pressure sensitivity on non-Apple screens which kinda defeats the whole purpose of drawing right?? Also saw those ones with the little plastic discs on the end but they look so weird and I feel like Id snap it off in five minutes. Im really looking for something that feels more like a real pen for my Lenovo Tab P11 but honestly I want it to work on my phone too if possible.
Here is what I am looking for:
Is there actually a universal one that doesnt suck for art or am I just dreaming? I saw some stuff about the Zagg Pro Stylus too but idk if that only works with iPads... its all so confusing with the different protocols like MPP and USI and I just want to draw some characters while I am on the bus commute starting next week. Anyone got a favorite that actually works?
> Is there actually a universal one that doesnt suck for art or am I just dreaming? Unfortunately, you're dreaming if you think a single pen will do great line art on both a Tab P11 and a random phone. Like someone mentioned, universal pens are usually a total trap for artists. I've wasted way too much cash over the years on pens that claim to be universal only to find they skip or have zero pressure sensitivity. For your Lenovo, quit looking at universal stuff and grab the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 Laptop/Tablet. It fits your budget and actually uses the WGP/AES protocols so you get 4096 levels of pressure. It wont work on your phone, but honestly, drawing on a phone with a capacitive nib is a nightmare anyway. Just stick to the tablet for the serious work. If you really need a phone stylus, just buy a cheap pack of those mesh tip ones for navigation and save the real pen for the P11.
I would suggest being very careful with the Zagg since it is mainly for iPads. You might want to consider the Adonit Neo Duo Dual Mode Universal Stylus instead. It has a universal mode for phones, but just be aware that any truly universal pen lacks pressure sensitivity. its safer to check if your Lenovo supports specific AES protocols first, as universal active tips often have jitter issues, tbh.
In my experience, those universal pens are a total trap. Ive tried dozens and they always skip. Without pressure sensitivity, your line art is basically gonna look like a shaky mess.
